"A month after Abelcain came out of hiding after roughly five years of silence, we are finally getting around to sharing the recorded audio documentation of his performance that night.

The mighty Addict Records  posse threw down another in a long, if increasingly infrequent, string of memorable and monumental events on July 6th in Milwaukee, WI – where it all began. With a host of the usual Addict suspects, Abelcain reared his ugly head at what I’ve been told was one of the best hard electronic music events in the past several years. Sadly, I could not attend, nor could most of you who are reading this. Thankfully, someone had the foresight to record this invocation of pure and unadulterated sonic darkness and mayhem.

Just eight and half minutes shy of an hour long, this recording showcases why Abelcain is one of the most respected, if simultaneously overly slept upon, names in North American extreme electronic music. Some have called him America’s answer to Venetian Snares, some have said he’s even greater than that. I would definitely agree with the former notion, depending on the day I would also agree with the latter. Either way, he is one of the greats when it comes to this thing we call “breakcore”, and this session shows that despite having little face time for the last half of the last decade, he is still a king. Relentless beat programming, remarkable mood and atmosphere crafting, and up front & in your face brutal electronics."
