✪ Concept: ✪

After the amazing and again completely sold-out 5 year B-day splash in three rooms at the Artcube, Age of Love returns to the Vooruit for another extravagant XXL edition.

The Age of Love parties are a true success story. They started 5 years ago in the Charlatan in Ghent and feature a musical trip through our electronic past with the best classics and old skool sounds.

The next highlight for Age of Love was their own stage at Feest in het Park in 2010 and from that moment on Nik from Charlatan and Quincy from Soul Phonic joined forces with K-events for 2 exclusive XXL editions per year in the beautiful Vooruit. They are what they were intended to be: parties with all the hands in the air and smiling faces at many moments.

Next to the sounds, a lot of attention goes into creating a sublime atmosphere. Dance acts, dance platforms, lasers and more remind the public of that special feeling on the typical raves from the ‘90’s.

Straight from the start the parties were sold out time after time with legendary Belgian dj’s as Cj Bolland, Zolex, Yves Deruyter, Fly, Franky Jones, Oliver Pieters, Franky Kloeck, Phi Phi, Eric B, Tofke, Fred Nasen, Marko, Laurent Warin,... and international stars as Marusha, Jay-dee, Joey Beltram, Future Breeze, Andry Nalin and many others.

This time Age of Love invites the man who made our theme song: Bruno Sanchioni from that timeless and wonderful ‘Age of Love’ track. And also known as the B in BBE who scored one of the biggest dance hits ever with ‘Seven days in one week’ for an exclusive live performance.

He will be joined by Erik De Koning from ‘Three Drives on A Vinyl’ who produced numerous hit singles and remixed big names as SNAP, Proper Beating, Ferry Corsten, The Vengaboys.

And of course, in good tradition, those Belgian dj’s that made us rave till dawn time after time during the glory days: Franky Jones, Phi Phi, Youri Parker, Quincy, Tofke and Xavier Leman will be doing it again like there’s no tomorrow.

More info:

Bruno Sanchioni

Bruno Sanchioni started creating his own style in 1986 with Roger Samyn, producer and publisher of Diki Records, with the album ‘Acid Story’ aka Dr. PHIBES which was an immediate bestseller. Another vinyl single ‘Noise Gate’ marked his further success not only in Belgium but also internationally.

Also future titles sold several hundred thousand copies, this was especially the case for ‘Age of Love’remixed by the German duo Jam & Spoon in 1991. In 1994 Bruno left Diki Records and started a new collaboration with Emmanuel TOP: the BBE group was born ... ‘Seven Days and One Week’ sold half a million albums worldwide to the point of finding them ranked first Italo-French International Box Office next to Daft Punk!

Today Bruno continues his passion for music as a freelance composer and preparing new albums with eclectic music (Pop, Electro, Trance, Lounge, Experimental, Ambient, R'n'B ...) that a wider audience is discovering again in his live performances.

Three Drives On A Vinyl

Three Drives (On A Vinyl) is a collaboration between Erik de Koning (DJ Enrico) and Ton van Empel (Ton TB). They are responsible for the massive hit single ‘Greece 2000’. This single, after conquering the clubs, stormed into the worldwide single charts and got licensed to labels such as Hooj Choons and ZYX music and diverse compilations. The track also landed them remixes for artists as SNAP, Proper Beating, Ferry Corsten, The Vengaboys, Saucerman …

The guys also produced several albums as ‘Theme 2000’ and ‘Melodies from the Universe’. These highly appreciated albums received a lot of credits and were popular among many artists such as Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto and Pete Tong. The double release ‘Sunset on Ibiza’ & ‘Air Traffic’ caused a stir in the UK and stormed the dance charts again and this time it reached nr 1! This time the track was licensed to Xtravaganza Records and released in the UK in September 2001 containing new remixes.

Besides the Three Drives projects, Club Royale’s club anthem “Losing Sleep” (It Records) and Enrico-solo releases like “The Hardclubber” (Celebrative Records) and “The Disclubber” (Blue Records), Erik de Koning was also the executive producer of DJ Jurgen (“Higher and Higher”) and many more. As founder of Tangled65.com, also Ton TB is still very active as a solo artist, which he proved by his many releases. Their enormous list of original releases is endless, and many more productions / remixes will be added to their impressive list.

Franky Jones

Franky Jones has been playing dance-music for more than 20 years now. His music evolved from Disco to New Wave to New Beat and Electronic Body Music in the earley 80’s to House and Techno in the 90’s. Bands & artists like Depeche Mode, Prince, Kraftwerk, George Clinton, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Simple Minds, Anne Clarke, Underworld, Orbital and many others were a huge inspiration for him.

He played all over the world on the biggest events such as Mayday, Love Parade, I Love Techno, Inner City, House Torhout, 10 Years La Rocca and many many others.

Phi-Phi

Although Phi-Phi was born in France he started and made his career in Belgium since 1985. He played with big DJ's like Paul van Dyk, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Anthony Pappa, Sasha, … and together with his studio partner Philippe Van Mullem, he made some timeless tracks like "Honey C", "Stop The Disease", "UNA - Emotion", "Can You Hear Me”, "Quadran” & “Innertales".

He’s one of the few dj's who can still play and produce the vanished old Belgian trance style. An unmatched track selection and a unique mixing style make him the only one who can show trance haters why their opinion is wrong. He’s known all over Belgium for his "Phi-Phi Legendary Monday's" at Extreme and also carried residencies at At The Villa, Fuse, Boccaccio, Oxygene, Tour & Taxi, Cirao, Pulp, Barocca.

Quincy

Quincy from Soul Phonic is a well-known promoter and the driving force behind the re-opening of Extreme as well as having played a role in the re-opening of Cherrymoon. Next to that Quincy has been heading events in Stereo Sushi, Move in Charlatan, Rebuilding Mondays at the old Boccaccio. Since 2010 Quincy is focusing himself on the organization of the ‘Age Of Love’ and Extreme On Tour Events.

As a dj. Quincy from Soul Phonic has played lots of events and legendary clubs as 10DaysOff, Laundry Day, Feest In Het Park, Kozzmozz, MuZZic, Beats Of Love, Fuse, Paradise at Café D'anvers, Montini, Noxx, Café Capital, Decadance, Extreme, Cherry Moon, ...

Youri

Of all the residents that played at Cherry Moon for a long time, Youri is the one who captured the hearts of the crowd for the longest time. He started there when he was really young. Because of his choice of records and his technical skills, he was seen as a true wonder-kid in those days.

It also landed him bookings on big events as Mayday and Love Parade.

Tofke

Tofke started djing at underground parties in Belgium in 1989. Soon he played all over Europe and fell in love with Ibiza where he became a weekly resident in Pacha for 2 years and another 2 in Space. He also played all Ibiza’s other major clubs such as Privilege, El Divino, Amnesia and underground parties like Circo Loco @ DC10 and Km5.

Back to Belgium: he was resident in almost every club as: La Rocca, Pacha Brussels, At The Villa, The Globe, Bump @ Fuse, Carat, Illusion, H2O, ... In 2007 Tofke started his own concept in the backstage of La Rocca and became resident at the new club Noxx. When Tofke mixed the 1 year Noxx compilation it went straight into the compilation charts.

In 2009 Tofke teamed up with Ugur Akkus to start Labyrinth Productions. They’ve earned their fame with the Cocoon, Cadenza, Circoloco and Peoples parties at Café d’Anvers. In September 2010, Labyrinth joined forces with Pioneer DJ, to bring a new and original concept combining workshops with a night out on the tunes of the world’s top (100) DJ’s. Of course Tofke holds a residency on all of these parties, which opened up a whole new window of opportunities.

Xavier Leman

After playing at birthdays, weddings, bars, … in the South of Belgium, Xavier started in nightclubs as a guest with dj's as George, DJ HS, Frank Biazzi, Dave Swayze, Laurent Top, Mr Sam, Nalin and Kayne, Stephen Brown, ...
He later starts a society for sound and light and builds up his profile with many events ranging from 200 to 12,000 people.

For 7 years he mixes on Radio Galaxy in Lille every Saturday from 18h to 20h. Passionate about vinyl records, he also transmits this to Going Out magazine for whom he writes. When he released the track "Il est interdit" it reached no. 12 in the French Top 50 and was played by Martin Solveig, David Vendetta, Antoine Clamaran, Joachim Garraud, Justice, to name a few ... More recently, he perfects his musical knowledge in the "Mandarine" club in Dottignies while managing the record store Diki Records in Mouscron.
