[BLUDCLOT029] Various Artists - "Black Light"

When the idea was birthed to put together a compilation intended to represent the flipside to the coin that was “White Lighter”, this compilation known as “Black Light” quickly took on a life of its own and managed to exceed in its intended efforts while expanding upon them tenfold – managing to deliver several alternate sides to the coin of “White Lighter”.

When we reached out to artists to submit material for this, we asked for techno/fourfour/house/club/drag/etc – what we got was 10 tracks of far reaching and quite varied material that, in context, works well as a whole and manages to tell a story while deftly bridging the gap between the aforementioned styles and providing an alternate view of deep and/or dark electronic music than “White Lighter” offered listeners.

At the same time, “Black Light” still manages to be engaging enough to keep those heads into that jungle/core/etc effort interested while reaching out to everyone well outside of that sonic framework. From warped alien rap to house to blistering acid techno to juke to futurebass to all types of deviant kickdrum driven freaky electronic music suitable for speaker stacks and armchairs alike, “Black Light” is the black sheep of the Bludclot Family that, again – in context, still makes sense in the big picture while sticking out only slightly like a sore thumb on its own.
