ok i get your point and agree with almost everything
except that im not a perfect dj (although i consider govocal as my  perfect homemade mix)
and fuck royalty issues, if i buy the record then its my record i do whatever i want with it, im certainly not gonna pay again if i promote their tracks on mix cd, even if i would ask money for it
i would probably mail them about it and if they dont like it well then i dont use theyre tracks
well yeah except if that track really needs to be on that mix so yeah, fuck it


and i was talking about lives in stead of deejays becuz lots of gigs i attend lately has more lives then deejays (totally different then in the 90's)
so if someone shows up to play records i actually give him a lot of credit just for the fact that he buys records and trying to do his thing, even if his mixes are bad
becuz i think its more difficult standing there then a standard laptop live
its not if you can mix some hits at home that you can do it at a gig (all dj's have been there)
thats when experience and nerve control comes in

but i also get youre point about that one and youre right im kinda old fashionned as well about lots of things


anyway, im gonna download this mix lol

i'm not saying a djset doesn't add to the value of the records,
but this added value is much more clear when the seperate tracks are mentioned, no?
the number of tracks, the selection of artists, labels, ... all add to the artistic value of a mix
if u don't add this information the mix isn't worth much IMO so idd I don't download it
it's ok if u don't care but i'm sure  a lot of people have my oppinion on this one so it's not me personally but a group of people that wil not enjoy ur set that otherwise would...
if u wouldn't care about this virtual audience you wouldn't upload sets...

actually my point is that a lot (& i mean A LOT) of producers don't get royalties what so ever , couple of vinyls when they're released maybe a couple of bucks for the release party & that's it .
the recognition is pretty much all u get & i think people cannot take that from the artists . i'm not saying u should pay more cash just because u made a cd mix , u paid those vinyls they're urz & they're meant to be played , these are facts ! ^^
