Frog Pocket aka John Charles Wilson hails from Ayr in the West of Scotland. He formed his own label, Mouthmoth, in 1999, around the same time as Benbecula's creation, and from that early stage the two labels have collaborated on various projects, with Frog Pocket invited to play as a guest at various Benbecula events.
An EP from Frog Pocket was always a priority for Benbecula and in 2003 it finally came to fruition in the form of a CD and vinyl mini album entitled "Moon Mountain of the Fords".
Frog Pocket is a regular on the live circuit and friendships with other labels ensures he always keeps himself busy. His manic, physical sets are a spectacle that can only impress. Incorporating backing beats, live fiddle, guitar and vocal, Frog Pocket has maintained his credibility both as a musician and contemporary electronic performer.
His dedication to live performances and networking with other artists and labels has paid off in the form a friendship with Mike Paradinas at Planet Mu. In 2003 Planet Mu released a 7" single and in 2005 the label plans to release a full length album.
To know the music is to the love the man and his quirky and somewhat misinterpreted demeanour only adds to his mystique. The fractured AFX-like beats alongside beautiful melodies and the energetic live act, sit at odds with a character so unassuming and modest.
With the Planet Mu album "Gonglot", 2005 could be the year that Frog Pocket breaks. Benbecula are proud to have been a small part of his history.

Ernesto González ruilde het Chavez regime voor Waterloo in België. Hij nam de gitaar ter hand, oefende zijn Hendrix skills, werd geïntroduceerd in de wereld van fuzz, wahwah, kraut rock jams, drone lords en kosmische trances en besloot dat hij dat allemaal wel in zijn eentje kon reconstrueren. Na zijn debuut op Gipsy Sphinx, is Vallée de Dith zijn tweede officiële soloplaat. Daarop laat hij de drones op het tweede plan en concentreert zich voornamelijk op krautrock work-outs. Deze plaat is een ultieme Zuid-Amerikaanse versie van Neu! en Manuel Göttsching: uistekende riffs, hersensmeltende space synths en far-out hippie meditaties. ALKALOID Alkaloid is the Belgian enfant terrible of postrave electronix. His variated background of punk, jazz, postrock, dub and hardcore, has brought him to be the ideal example of the contemporary crossover of the new electronic music scene. He feeds on anything he likes and as gipsy, ska, rave and avant garde music pass by, he mellows it up with streight from the heart sounddesign. With a madly ravable sound that builds from triphop and dubstep to jungle and funcore, his catchy tunes and massive sound will set any dancefloor on fire.
dustrickxDustrickx is the main force behind the maintanance of musicallity and the crossover tendency of UMR. As a promotor he has always been into the new sounds, the most delightfull raveparties and the bringing together of interesting influences and people. In his dj sets he combines classics from the archive of underground dancemusic, such as squarepusher, afx, venetian snares and manny more with new dubstep, jungle, hardcore and breakcore insanity. His sets are effective and euforic for any crowd.
CORDYCEPS UNILATERALIS This fungus infects the behaviour of electronic devices and living creatures.
The mycelia enter a mixer through different sources, where they begin to
alter the interacting signals. Spontaneously it creates evolving sound masses
of layered noises. Through the victim's ear spores enter the brain and change
perception of reality, causing severe headache and hearing loss.
HETLAMGODS Boris Uytterhaegen aka HetLamGods is productdevelopper and producer. With a scientific approach to music and soundproduction he develops a different hard and software liveset each time.
