the concept of yoga beats is derived from the Australian/New Zealand festival culture where during the day people do yoga, meditation, workshops on conscious food and medicine, ... and at night are dancing to downtempo, hiphop, dubstep, ... inspired by 'next level' culture, creating a hybrid of contemporary beats with ancient influences and philosophies...
There is nothing defined as 'yoga beats' or it does not serve solely as a musical genre for asana (posture) practice, it is just a reference name that I use not having to repeat all the possible genres all the time and there are some links you can discover yourself.


On topic: Thanks to everyone who came it was an amazing day! Such a beautiful reunion of monkey powers!

yes she's a friend of mine :-) very american...
of course some people do an 'asana' practice on yoga beats, mostly at festivals because there are noise volumes anyway. It;snot because some people are doing it that it is a part of ; real yoga;
It is preferable to do yoga in a quiet environment and I don't usually recommend it to people because I validate the meditative effects of yoga more than the physical ones.
These music genres however were not designed to do yoga on... so there is no immediate correlation between yoga and yoga beats as such but of course the inspiration comes from somewhere and some people are playing with these concepts and practices in the field of contemporary yoga.
There are studio where a brand of 'yoga beats' is also used for doing asana on deephouse as well.
There is ofcourse a correlation between yoga and yoga beats from the festival scene and the spiritual family organizing these conscious festivals being the same artists, but I meant to say that in a traditional sense bass music and yoga have little to do with eachother, just as acrobatics, lycra, synthetic maths, juicing, ... and lots of other so called correlated things don't actually have any true connection to yoga as a traditional spiritual practice or philosophical concept...

you are free to practice yoga on these sets but I personally recommend dancing :-)
