[BLUDCLOTdigital016] Defecks - "Unknown Exercise" [dnb]
« on: March 08, 2011, 10:32:16 PM »

If you like the classic jungle/drum’n'bass sound, then you are in luck. Defecks delivers the 16th release on Bludclot Recordings, full of runnin’ drums, classy atmospheric and melodic work, choice bassline action – and it most definitely has that classic sound. Real heady intelligent armchair vibes on this one, but still plenty rollin’ to find room in the record bag meant for the club.

Clockin’ in at right around 30 minutes, the five tracks that make up Defecks’ first outting on Bludclot Recordings, and anywhere at all on any (even semi) official level, are sort of sonic cinematic masterpieces. Built from a foundation of drums that are never overly complex and never under developed, each tune creeps in and builds upon the drums using very sparse samples and otherworldly atmospheres and melody, topped off by just the right placement of just the right low end action.

The tracks, each of them, are their own deep and dark drum’n'bass/jungle aural pieces to the whole sonic tale the album tells as a whole.
