on wednesday night (3/6) we got a visit from: 3 representatives (a lawyer & 2 other humans) from Fabricom. 2 occupiers, Luc Van Neste & Siegfried Sergeant, the lawyer for the forest, spoke with them. The visit came on the initiative of fabricom themselves, who contacted the lawyer.Firstly & most importantly they claimed to have found interested/potential buyers for their sad & silly project, a sign of their plans moving along, which of course means dragging us out of the forest first. They showed us some of their building plans, which include hangars along the Ten Briele &offices on the state-park side with a "beautiful view of thh forest".Terrain exchange has been the only option & talking point with fabricom, but until now they hadnt't offered any response. Now they have "given" us just 12 days to "find" an empty terrain & present it to them. A second meeting is planned for monday 15th june where, amongst other things, the question of terrain exchange will be discussed. We're sending a callout for people's responses, ideas & support. write us an email with ideas, or a message you would like passed on to the fabricom humans. (be intelligent, please, when sending ideas by email, remembering our good friends in blue are probably listening). Or even better, come on monday 15th to the forest, or meet us at zwijnstraat 3, Brugge, at 18:30 and join those outside the meeting on the street to show support. The sunday beforehand is also a boscafe, and there will be space on that day and days before to discuss ideas & strategy. The fact that fabricom have taken the initiative themselves, their pathetic bargaining attempt, and their apparent potential buyers show that their plans are moving forward, and the time of eviction may be moving closer. All support from outside; and especially more people in the forest; are all welcome, invited, needed & appreciated.please send on this message, translate if needed, spread the word!!!cheerslappersfort folk
6u30 't zand in Brugge ! !Dear people,Last Wednesday ( 3/6), we had a meeting with 3 representatives from Fabricom. An email hasalready been sent out with some details from that little meeting, so this is just a little reminder:- they claim to have a buyer, which means their plans may be moving forward now must faster, and time of eviction can come closer.- they made a pathitic attempt to bargain us out of the forest, allowing us to leave voluntarely and later decide which treesthey would plant to replace the ones they want to slaughter- the option of swapping errains was brought up. Such a ´landswop´ would mean thatthe city would have to provide Fabricom with a suitable piece of disused industrial estate instead of the forest, which would mean they still would go ahaed with their project but on an already concreted piece of land. The next meeting is on Monday 15th of June, at 7pm in the Zwijnstraat ( Pigstreet)We´re calling out to all friends of the Lappersfort to join us on the streets outside the meeting. We want to give the folk from Fabricom a show of numbers and give a clear message:There are local people from Brugge & in- and outside the area who support the occupation and the keeping of the Lappersfort. There are more of us ready and willing to defend these woods in case of an eviction threat, and we are not going anywhere without an guerantee that every piece of these 3,5 hectares stays standing!!The landswop option is something over which we can´t ultimately decide.Because of ´democratic elected´ rich people who apparently more equal that the rest of us, and therefore have ´power´ to make decions.Fabricom must sit down with cityplanners to draw up new plans for such an exchange. What we can do isput pressure on the city to find a solution, while at the same time keeping the occupation of the Lappersfort going on and offering them our version of a solution- an end to industrial growth, an end to development and an end to a way of thinking in which nature is a commodity to be exploited for corporate profit. As a profit hungry construction and an energy company, an and subsidiary of giant GDF Suez,no matter what the outcome of this meeting and what happens further on; Fabricom and the other companies like them, will remain enemies of nature & wilderness everywhere. A landswop may save the woods, but still allows expansionof such a company. Nonetheless, in case of the Lappersfort; this appears to be the only realistic option to keep the trees standing, besides making the forest unevictable & staying here untill the collapse of all industry...So, join us Monday the 15th of June, at 6.30 pm, at ´t Zand in Bruggefrom there will we go to the Zwijnstraat.Or, if you want, meet us earlier in Lappersfort forestBring music, banners, juggling stuff etc etc!Afterwards there will be free food and warm campfire in the forest, and of coursetime to plan more and have a look around and enjoy the forest while it still existsHopefully see you sooncheers and love, the people from the Lappersfort
