Mekitburn Cultival is back baby! As usual on the last weekend of September we will be closing down summer in style once again. 2011 has been a great year for our organization and the best is yet to come; our diverse, cheap, original & cozy festival! Brought to you by young creators just trying to do good.
2011 is the year that Mekitburn explores the Universe. This year’s theme will be SPACE and it will make you forget that the space shuttle has been discontinued. Come to discover on this trip into space for the last time before you go into winter state. Come and be surprised.
Some of the 50 confirmed bands/artists are: Futurebound, Soulshakers, Dj Dawoonder, Hoodoo, 18 inch Ginjah, Nighttrash, Davian Thule, Sunny Muffins (Live), Dublomat, PT Crew, (Deaf People Audio; Misuccc, Astrophisiks, OostWestCrewSound) & more to come!

For everyone who’s interested: what is Mekitburn Cultival actually?
A good cultival! Mekitburn arose from the idea of bringing people together by means of a festival using this to promote new art forms in Belgium by working together for a good cause. This has created a network of people and associations that share this vision to gather people on a cozy festival with a conscience.

What is so special about Mekitburn cultival 2011?
1. The mix of art styles
We’ve gathered an interesting mix of domestic and foreign experimental artists, who you will blow your mind away.
Promoting new art styles which are needed in Belgium, we try to give a chance to those artists who make their own thing and we prefer it if they are Belgian. A good example is the mix of mapping, Vj-ing, deco and musicians in one overall.
2. Mekitburn is a fire like no other. Volunteers
We are a young volunteers’ organization where everyone can feel welcome. Our volunteers will also display their artistic skills by decorating the whole festival. As you will see, we’ve got some very talented people in our crew. The festival is created by people who want to express their selves and bring art out of enthusiasm. Contemporary art to mek yu dance!
3. The wicked line up
Once again we will lift off original party music into your eardrums in our own, well-known style. Heavy roots music ‘till the early morn’. So diverse that most of our guests come just to explore!

4. The beautiful location
The cultival will be held at the same location but with a different set up: This year we have a line up for 4 Stages but all of them are located next to the beautiful familiar complex in the well known & fairylike forest “domein de 3 fonteinen”.

5. The good cause
As every year we try to support as many good causes as we can. This year we’ll donate 1€/ticket to Africa. Some friends of us over there will look after it. We hope we can send about a 1000 children to school. Our friends in Africa will go with the children to their school to get the certificate. We’ll also try to support the world in other ways. For example, we will also collect some money for Natuurpunt so they can plant some more threes…

6. Other specials
You cannot catch us for insularity or box thinking. As always you will be surprised by all the specials we will offer. For example; good deals for dressed up people, strange people doing strange actions on the festival, fireshows… And of course you can count on our usual specials such as; good food, a lovely little chill out with water pipes, our flashy cockatils made with love an Fm Brussel bus and other stands.
